Winter Park, along the shores of Lake Virginia, is one of the loveliest cities in Orange County. Home to over thirty thousand multi-cultural people, it is one of Florida’s most affluent cities. You need much more than 24 hours a day to make the most of Winter Park. The city is a winner of the prestigious Crown Community Award for its affordable housing project, Railroad Avenue Residences, and the Swoope Avenue Water Treatment Facility project.

A visit to Winter Park is incomplete with seeing the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. It houses the most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Tiffany in the world. You can browse many different items based on Tiffany jewelry, pottery, paintings, art glass, leaded glass windows, and lamps. The museum also features a major collection of American art pottery and paintings. Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens located in the former home of the renowned Czechoslovakian sculptor has three galleries of paintings in the Mediterranean-style building and a three-acre sculpture garden.

Winter Parks boasts of numerous attractive parks all over the city. Central Park, an 11-acre park in downtown Winter Park was a gift from Charles Hosmer Morse. Towering oaks, fountains, and an enchanting rose garden provide a retreat from the neighboring Park Avenue with its exciting shopping. The park hosts the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of the nation’s most prestigious outdoor art festivals exhibiting clay, digital art, drawing fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, and sculpture. The Best of Show exhibits are on permanent display at the Winter Park Public Library. Music, entertainment, food, and creative workshops are all an integral part of the festival held each March.

Central Park also hosts an annual exotic car show in October, classic outdoor movies, an old-fashioned July Fourth celebration, and numerous music festivals. Other parks include Kraft Azalea Garden, a scenic park on Lake Maitland. The 11-acre garden boasts of a beautiful Exedra monument and walking trails. Fleet Peeples Park, a beautiful, shady park covers 23 acres on Lake Baldwin and offers a sandy beach.

Rollins College founded in 1885 is the oldest recognized college in Florida and the first in the state to offer liberal arts education. Situated on a lush, 70-acre campus, its amenities include a 75,000-square-foot Alfond Sports Center and state-of-the-art Cornell Campus Center. Experience the history of the place as you walk around Rollins’ tree-lined campus, or stroll along the Walk of Fame, or step inside one of its magnificent Spanish Mediterranean style buildings.

Full Sail Real World Education is geared toward the entertainment industry and is known for its around-the-clock schedule. It offers degree programs in all aspects of entertainment including animation, design, and production. Winter Pines Golf Course and Interlachen Country Club offer challenging golf. Pinocchio’s Marionette Theatre introduces the ancient art of marionette puppetry to children of all ages in an entertaining way. After a hard day of fun, relax at the Zero Gravity Float Spa where you can enjoy a relaxing Epson hydrotherapy treatment. The float spa is equipped with a floatation chamber and an open float bath and offers massages and one-on-one yoga instructions.
