The Statistics say it all. Parkland had a population of less than four thousand people in1990 and has a population of over 34,000 people today. Established in 1963, Parkland has developed in the northwest corner of Broward County between Boca Raton and Coral Springs in southeastern Florida. In 2018, a gunman killed 17 people and injured 17 others in a school shooting sparking nationwide protests, it was the deadliest shooting at an American high school.

Parkland has become an incredibly popular bedroom community in South Florida, accounting for its recent population boom. Most families belong to the high income per household group with a median age in the mid 30’s. Many of the residents are professionals who have moved here because of the excellent A-rated school system and the commuter friendly location that is convenient to people working in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Palm Beach.

A new Community Bus Service known as “Spirit of Parkland” provides free transport within the city. Offered by the City in conjunction with Broward Mass Transit, this bus service has provided a means of easy movement through the streets particularly in the eastern parts of the City.

Parkland offers a lifestyle that incorporates the best of city living without any of the pressures and hassles. The proximity of Coral Springs to the south and Boca Raton to the north, provides Parkland with a large variety of shopping and restaurant choices. Both cities can be reached in an easy 10-minute drive from Parkland. The pristine white sands and sparkling turquoise blue waters of the Southern Florida beaches are just 15 minutes away with the Saw grass expressway that runs along the southern border of the city giving access to South Florida’s expansive freeway system.
