President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign has reported a robust fundraising success, securing over $97 million in contributions during the fourth quarter of 2023.

As the political landscape takes shape for the upcoming election, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ combined political operation enters the pivotal year with a formidable $117 million in their campaign war chest. This sum encompasses contributions from Biden’s campaign, two joint fundraising committees, and the Democratic National Committee.

Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign manager, emphasized the significance of early and sustained support across their coalition, enabling the expansion of their operation nationwide and the effective delivery of their message to critical communities in the election.

The $117 million injection comes at a critical moment for President Biden, who is struggling to combat a decline in his approval ratings, which fell to 40% in a survey done in November.

Online fundraising has been a cornerstone of Biden’s campaign strategy, with initiatives like the Cup of Joe contest contributing over $3 million. This particular contest provided participants with the chance to meet both Biden and Harris, showcasing the campaign’s innovative approach to engaging donors and supporters.
