Per the latest rankings released by the U.S. News & World Report, Cornell, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia have all claimed the top three spots for 2024’s Best Hospital in New York World.

Affiliated with Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medicine, the hospital is consistently ranked among the top 10 in the nation and the top 5 in the New York metropolitan area.

US News assessed New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell across 15 specialties, including diabetes, gastroenterology, cancer, cardiology, geriatrics, gynecology, nephrology, orthopedics, pulmonology, neurology, rheumatology, urology, as well as ear, nose, and throat.

Remarkably, the hospital demonstrated excellence in all evaluated specialties.

Apart from its overall rating, the hospital performed exceptionally well in 21 different procedures and conditions. 

These included vital surgeries like aortic valve replacements, heart bypasses, and lung cancer operations. 

Along with complex interventions such transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well as repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, the hospital also specialized in orthopedic procedures like replacements of the hip and knee.

These hospitals not only secure a national standing but also hold the top positions in the New York metropolitan area, encompassing Long Island, Westchester County, and northern New Jersey.

New York state is home to standout hospitals, with the Hospital for Special Surgery ranking as the nation’s top hospital for orthopedics.

Additionally, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is recognized as the second-best hospital for cancer treatment in the United States.
